We are looking for an experienced game-development engineer to tackle a variety of technical tasks for LBC Studios’ first game, and the world’s best weed-growing game, Hempire.

This is an office role with the possibility of remote work.

  • Maintain, update, and secure the current mobile client
  • Maintain and update the current LBC development infrastructure
  • Optimize client performance
  • Support the software development life-cycle for the client
  • Maintain, update, and create a build pipelines for the developed software and assets using Jenkins and the existing development infrastructure
  • Assess, develop, debug, maintain, and set standards for code
  • Strong ability to scope and define project requirements
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with remote team members to identify, produce, and deliver tasks on time
  • Contribute to feedback on process and direction
  • Balance and solve problems of product design, development, and data needs
  • Work with designers and senior engineers to help drive game features
  • Optimize game performance
  • Develop tools, features, and pipelines to be used in the development process
  • Take charge on improving our development processes and system architecture
  • Collaborate with project leads to establish engineering tasks and schedules
  • Collaborate with both internal and external dev teams
  • Provide technical contribution on a team of seasoned developers skilled in front-end technologies

Position Qualifications
  • 3 – 4 years development experience on mobile game teams
  • 2+ years development using Unity and C#
  • Experience with performance and memory tuning of Unity mobile games
  • Math skills used in 3D game development
  • Ability to scope and define project requirements
  • Ability to work within a geographically distributed team comprised of a combination of employees and contractors
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle management - Assess, develop, debug, and maintain code
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with remote team members to identify, produce, and deliver tasks on time
  • Experience working using Agile methodology and in fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity using GIT for source code management is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment to deliver high quality work products
  • Ability to contribute to detailed system design and technical specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and quickly acquire proficiency with new skills.
  • Familiarity with SCRUM/Agile development methodology
  • Working proficiency in English

About LBC:

LBC Studios is a private company located in Langley, British Columbia and was founded in February, 2015 by Solon Bucholtz and Dennis Molloy.
